Staying Safe While Walking in Our Neighborhood

As we all enjoy the walking spaces of our subdivision, it’s important to stay aware and follow safety practices that keep everyone secure. Whether you're out for a stroll in broad daylight, at dusk, or after dark, a few precautions can make a big difference in preventing accidents and ensuring peace of mind.

Daytime Walking Safety:

Always walk and stay on the left side of the road facing traffic.  This way, you can see oncoming cars and determine whether they see you or not, by their actions.

  • Be mindful of driveways and intersections—drivers may not always see pedestrians immediately.

  • Stay alert and avoid distractions like texting while walking.

Dusk and Evening Safety:

  • Wear bright or reflective clothing so drivers and cyclists can see you easily.

  • Avoid walking near the edge of the road where visibility may be compromised.

  • Stick to well-lit paths whenever possible. Walk on the left side of the road facing traffic.

Nighttime Walking Safety:

  • Carry a flashlight or wear reflective gear to ensure visibility. Walk on the left side of the road facing traffic.

  • Walk with a friend or in a group whenever possible for added safety.

  • Be extra cautious at crosswalks and intersections—drivers may have limited visibility.

By following these simple guidelines, we can all contribute to a safer, more enjoyable walking experience in our neighborhood. Let’s look out for one another and make our streets as pedestrian-friendly as possible.

Stay safe and happy walking!
